Music Making is the name of the group, and making music is what we do.
What we are not is a classical ensemble. What we are is a group of people who want to play our instruments together, first and foremost for the simple enjoyment of it.
Whether your instrument is your voice, a few different things you shake or hit, or something you blow, squeeze, kick, pluck, bow, strum or press, we invite you to try your hand (or other relevant body parts) and join in. You don’t have to read music – a good ear and memory is just as useful.
We have an existing portfolio of generally well known traditional, folk and pop songs and tunes. We expand this week by week with songs and tunes suggested by group members, and practise favourite numbers to improve and polish our performances.
We also make opportunities, without pressure, to offer solos (aka "Party Pieces") to the group, always encouraging each other and building confidence.
Meetings after Easter this year are scheduled for 24th April, 22nd May and 12th and 19th June. These are all Fridays at 2pm, but not all in Week 1.
If you think you might enjoy having a go, give David a call on 07942 264354 or email him by clicking his name here: David Chapman.
