Line Dancing does not require a partner but is enjoyed by both men and women. Our class provides low impact exercise combined with a happy social atmosphere. Line Dancing is also good for the memory as steps and sequences are repeated to learn a dance. The music and dances are very varied, not just country music. New dances are also regularly introduced to keep our brains active as well as our feet.
Our group has a mixed range of line dance skills, from beginner level to the more experienced. Newcomers are given extra help to learn the steps, especially in the September to December term. A list of the most usual steps can be found on this page.
You will need sensible footwear (low heels), and a sense of fun. People learn at different rates; some folk take longer than others to learn dances – so patience with yourself is very helpful.
We would love to welcome you to our group. If numbers are at a maximum then we have a waiting list.
